بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ ١
Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka bi-as-habialfeel. Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ ٢
Alam yajAAal kaydahum fee tadleel. Did He not make their plan into misguidance?
وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ ٣
Waarsala AAalayhim tayran ababeel. And He sent against them birds in flocks,
تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ ٤
Tarmeehim bihijaratin minsijjeel. Striking them with stones of hard clay,
فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ ٥
FajaAAalahum kaAAasfin ma'kool. And He made them like eaten straw.
