WannaziAAati gharqa. By those [angels] who extract with violence
Wannashitati nashta. And [by] those who remove with ease
Wassabihati sabha. And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming
Fassabiqati sabqa. And those who race each other in a race
Falmudabbirati amra. And those who arrange [each] matter,
Yawma tarjufu arrajifa. On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],
TatbaAAuha arradifa. There will follow it the subsequent [one].
Quloobun yawma-ithin wajifa. Hearts, that Day, will tremble,
Absaruha khashiAAa. Their eyes humbled.
Yaqooloona a-inna lamardoodoona feealhafira. They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?
A-itha kunna AAithamannakhira. Even if we should be decayed bones?
Qaloo tilka ithan karratun khasira. They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."
Fa-innama hiya zajratun wahida. Indeed, it will be but one shout,
Fa-itha hum bissahira. And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
Hal ataka hadeethu moosa. Has there reached you the story of Moses? -
Ith nadahu rabbuhu bilwadialmuqaddasi tuwa. When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
Ithhab ila firAAawna innahu tagha. "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.
Faqul hal laka ila an tazakka. And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself
Waahdiyaka ila rabbika fatakhsha. And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"
Faarahu al-ayata alkubra. And he showed him the greatest sign,
Fakaththaba waAAasa. But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed.
Thumma adbara yasAAa. Then he turned his back, striving.
Fahashara fanada. And he gathered [his people] and called out
Faqala ana rabbukumu al-aAAla. And said, "I am your most exalted lord."
Faakhathahu Allahu nakalaal-akhirati wal-oola. So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].
Inna fee thalika laAAibratan limanyakhsha. Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [ Allah ].
Aantum ashaddu khalqan ami assamaobanaha. Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.
RafaAAa samkaha fasawwaha. He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.
Waaghtasha laylaha waakhraja duhaha. And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.
Wal-arda baAAda thalikadahaha. And after that He spread the earth.
Akhraja minha maahawamarAAaha. He extracted from it its water and its pasture,
Waljibala arsaha. And the mountains He set firmly
MataAAan lakum wali-anAAamikum. As provision for you and your grazing livestock.
Fa-itha jaati attammatualkubra. But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -
Yawma yatathakkaru al-insanu masaAAa. The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,
Waburrizati aljaheemu liman yara. And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -
Faamma man tagha. So as for he who transgressed
Waathara alhayata addunya. And preferred the life of the world,
Fa-inna aljaheema hiya alma'wa. Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.
Waama man khafa maqamarabbihi wanaha annafsa AAani alhawa. But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,
Fa-inna aljannata hiya alma'wa. Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.
Yas-aloonaka AAani assaAAatiayyana mursaha. They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?
Feema anta min thikraha. In what [position] are you that you should mention it?
Ila rabbika muntahaha. To your Lord is its finality.
Innama anta munthiru manyakhshaha. You are only a warner for those who fear it.
Kaannahum yawma yarawnaha lamyalbathoo illa AAashiyyatan aw duhaha. It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
